Claudio and Adria Blotta (barbrix, Cooks County, All’Acqua) will reteam with barbrix and All’Acqua chef/partner, Don Dickman, to open Market Provisions in December in the historic Fairfax District of Los Angeles.
On Sunday, November 29, 2015, Cooks County will serve its last dinner and close it’s doors, and reopen with a new name, concept and menu in December, 2015 – Market Provisions, a wine bar. Dickman’s market inspired, small plates menu will feature a raw bar section, cheese and charcuterie as well as some sophisticated but accessible items such as Padron Peppers with lemon, garlic confit + anchovy pangratto and Whole Baked Camembert “In the Box” with roasted garlic, thyme, fleur de sel + baguette soldiers, plus some familiar classics like James Beard's Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic and Spaghetti Chitarra with tiny pork meatballs, pomodoro + parm.
Blotta’s wine list will be accessibly priced as per usual and feature global and eclectic selections with every bottle available by the glass as well.
The space and service will remain comfortable, relaxed and convivial, a neighborhood “go-to,” catering to diners who want a delicious bite on their way home from work or a splurgy feast to share with a tableful of friends and family. The restaurant’s centerpiece – a U-shaped bar, offers the full menu and gives diners a sweet peek into the open kitchen. It’s also a comfortable place for solo diners (to perhaps become not-so-solo by the evening’s end.)
Speaking of the bar, Market Provisions will offer Happy Hour Sunday through Thursday from opening until 7:30pm as well as a Late Night Happy Hour from 10p until closing with half-priced wines by the glass and specially priced Happy Hour dishes, exclusively at the bar.
